A new Competition for Undergraduate Students to highlight excellence in Final Year Projects relating and contributing to the development of Best Practice and/or Innovation in the field of Highways & Transportation.
The Competition is for Final Year undergraduate students enrolled in Engineering, Geography, Planning or Transport degree programmes accredited by either Engineers Ireland, Irish Planning Institute or the Royal Town Planning Institute.
The aim of the ‘Republic of Ireland CIHT Student Final Year Project Award 2013’ is to highlight excellence in Final Year Projects related and contributing to the development of best practice and/or innovation in the field of Highways & Transportation.
The competition is judged on merit of Final Year Projects. Final Year students of Level 8 and Level 7 Engineering, Geography, Planning or Transport degree programmes are eligible to enter.
There are two awards:
• Republic of Ireland Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) Student Final Year Project Award 2013 - Level 8
• Republic of Ireland Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) Student Final Year Project Award 2013 - Level 7
There is an annual prize for Level 8 and Level 7 winners of €1,000 and €750, respectively.
How to enter:
The entry format is a Technical Paper of no more than 2,000 words accompanied by a 150 word summary which should be submitted to Dr. Albert Daly, CIHT Student Awards Competition, National Roads Authority, St. Martin’s House, Waterloo Road, Dublin 4.
Each entry must be accompanied by a statement of authenticity from the author and countersigned by the project supervisor, head of department or head of school. If applicable this statement must include where and when any element of the project has previously been published or won any prizes.
