Bill Taylor has held senior positions in parent company Eurovia UK’s joint venture companies and was previously managing director of both Ringway Jacobs and BEAR Scotland.

Mike Notman recently joined from Amey, where he was responsible for the major Highways PFI contracts in Birmingham and Sheffield, as well as street lighting PFI contracts.

Ringway Infrastructure Services recently retained its highways maintenance contract with Worcestershire County Council worth up to £30M a year. Last April Ringway Jacobs began working on the North East area contract for the London Highways Alliance maintenance arrangement.

Elsewhere the Highways Agency announced this week the appointment of two non executive directors from the rail sector to help with the strategic roads operator's transition to a Government owned company.

Elaine Holt was previously chief executive of Directly Operated Railways, created by Government to oversee development of the East Coast rail franchise. Tom Smith was formerly chairman of the Association of Train Operating Companies and has previously led Midland Expressway which operates the M6 Toll road.

Elaine and Tom will replace non-executive director Tim Walton, who stepped down from the Highways Agency’s board at the end of last year.

And the Royal Academy of Engineering has nominated Professor Dame Ann Dowling to become its first female president.

Dame Ann leads research into low noise cars and the Royal Academy funds transport related engineering projects across a range of topics including electric vehicles.
