Alistair Hunter, Highways Business Leader, UKIMEA Region, Arup
Patrick Andison, Senior Economics Consultant, Arup
This podcast features Alistair Hunter and Patrick Andison from CIHT Strategic Partner Arup. Both give an excellent outline of what the concept of road pricing is and where it is headed, both in terms of the technology and policy. They also discussed in detail how road pricing must evolve to a mobility pricing concept to better encapsulate a holistic transport system.
Alistair recently gave evidence as a witness to the transport committee’s inquiry on road pricing, with this contribution helping to form part of the committee’s final report that was released at the start of February this year. Patrick in his role, has amassed a concentration of experience in the future of urban mobility and road pricing as well as the economic implications of major infrastructure programmes.
Alistair Hunter, Highways Business Leader, Arup:
The mobility pricing systems that have been successful throughout the world have always been mated with an alternative mass-transit type solution.
Patrick Andison, Senior Economics Consultant, Arup:
How are we using pricing across modes…to make sure that we are trying to get the most out of our infrastructure assets.
