CIHT's Road Safety Panel Chair Kate Carpenter was today interviewed on BBC Radio Somerset.

Kate appeared on the Matt Faulkner Show to discuss the impact of local authority budgets on a number of transport issues. These included the design life of traffic signals, the need to keep traffic flowing, technology behind the signals and the role investment in infrastructure has to play in promoting economic growth. Kate highlighted the Insitution's concerns about the loss of skilled staff in the public sector that are needed to ensure that informed decisions are made.

A copy of the programme where Kate has appeared can be found on the BBC here and she is interviewed 1 hour 36 minutes into the programme for around 5 minutes.
