An evening session on ‘Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT): Routes to Membership and Attaining Professional Qualifications’ was held in early May for interested highways and transportation professionals in Doha, Qatar.
The session was presented by Colin Smith from WSP l Parsons Brinckerhoff, who is a founder reviewer of CIHT for both CEng and TPP, who gave his insight into the preparation for the applications and the review process.
The presentation focused on the requirements of the various routes available for being registered by the Engineering Council (Chartered Engineer, Incorporated Engineer, and Engineering Technician) and the Transport Planning Professional qualifications. Discussions were made on the respective application procedures that recognize the individual’s knowledge and practical experience, and the overall benefits of joining the CIHT.
