The Heathrow Airport Consultation is a large-scale project that covers everything from future operations to construction to surface access concerns. CIHT has previously responded to their plans for roads and parking as part of the expansion and are keen to see how those criticisms will be taken on board. You can find the surface transport plans here and the deadline for responses is 13 September

Alongside that the Department for Transport has an open call for evidence about Carbon offsetting in transport. They want to know more about the role of offsetting in transport right now, what consumers think about it and whether transport companies should have to offer it. The call is here and the deadline is 26 September

An important one for local authorities and with consequences for automated vehicles are the proposals for Street manager and street works permit scheme changes which will implement the new national street manager digital service. The relevant documents are here and the deadline is also 26 September.

There is also a consultation on mandating Electric vehicle chargepoints in residential and non-residential buildings, intended for new and major renovation projects, it will require a certain amount of parking spaces to be capable of charging electric vehicles. The aim is to spur adoption of electrical vehicles by giving owners confidence they can charge at home and away. You can find the details here and the deadline is 7 October.

And finally, the Department of Health and Social Care is consulting on their proposals to help people live healthier, happier lives for longer. With questions on how we can ensure people live active and fulfilling lives as they age, there is currently very little included on the role of transport and active travel. You can give your thoughts here and the deadline is 14 October.

As always CIHT is interested in our members views. You can send any comments through to the Policy and Technical team at technical@ciht.org.uk
