On 15 May 2009, IHT, in partnership with the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS), held a roundtable event aimed at promoting the case for flexible employment policies in the transport/highways/ engineering sector.

Even at times of recession, successful companies need to retain talent in their workforce. Equally, when the recession ends, it is the companies that have flexible policies in place to attract and retain talent that will be the best placed to compete.

The event aimed to facilitate discussion and exchange of ideas for implementing change and promote best practice.

The speakers included Sarah Williams Gardener, Campaign Director for Opportunity Now, Rachel Skinner, President of the WTS, and Carolyn Dwyer, Chair of IHT’s Diversity Panel.
