I wrote my first 'from the Chair' in September 2019, who would have known then what we would have faced over the last 18 months.
A number of the themes that I wanted to develop over my tenure have had to be put on hold, but I feel that we have done an excellent job at being agile during these times.
We were able to put together an extensive programme of webinars over 2020, all of which received some excellent feedback. We also were able to put together a CPD Members Advice Note, which following good feedback, we have updated for this year. This will be available on the website soon.
I would like to take the time to thank the committee who have worked tirelessly through my time in the role. We only managed to meet in person twice as a group, but the commitment of everyone participating in online meetings has been outstanding! We say goodbye to Lance Fogg from the committee who has been a mainstay in the 10 plus years that I have been a committee member. Lance has a passion for making SoRSA better and he has added value with his contributions. Good luck in your new career Lance …yes he's not retiring, just moving on to different things!
I also wish Den good luck as he takes the hot seat - he has many good ideas and I'm looking forward to seeing him take SoRSA forward.

Our Membership Secretary has studied the outcomes of your annual reviews to identify common issues among members. This analysis contains some useful hints and tips which may help you to improve future submissions.
This year we had 255 Annual Reviews, 235 Members and 25 Fellows.
Well done to the 14% of you that submitted your Annual Review as per the form and received no comments from the assessors, this is down by 50% on last year’s review.
35% of our members failed to complete the form correctly or didn’t provide the documents the Annual Review Form requested.
We do encourage members to read the summary and follow the advice laid out so this can be improved.
