On Monday 17th Novemeber, Colin Davis, Principal Consultant at Colin J Davis & Associates introduced the emerging 'Street Design for All' document to a full room at TRL of CIHT's Thames and Chilterns Branch members.

“Street Design for All" is a new document currently completing its professional review before publication r. Its content aims to present up to date advice and good practice in an easy to read form, to suit both professionals and their clients.

The document covers new attitudes to street design, practical applications and how to bring it all together. The documentis supported by both the CIHT and DfT, and is due to be published later this year.

Colin Davis

After practicing as an architect and town planner in both the public and private sectors, Colin became a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation and formed a nationwide consultancy specialising in the interface of urban design and traffic engineering.

His special interest is the implementation of the new thinking on the balance of Place and Movement. His company has worked continually for the last twenty years with English Heritage, the Department for Transport and many local authorities across the country.

Colin also runs the Public Realm Information and Advice Network (PRIAN) which offers mid-career interdisciplinary training for all those involved in the public realm. www.publicrealm.info
