Sue Percy CBE, Chief Executive of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) was presented with an Honorary Fellowship at the SoRSA Annual Conference on 17 June.
The Society of Road Safety Auditors (or SoRSA) provides a home for the development of professional highways safety auditing best practice.
Sue was presented the Honorary Fellowship (SoRSA’s highest accolade) by Professor Glenn Lyons, CIHT President 2024-25. In making the award, Glenn said:
“Road Safety Auditors play an essential role in creating safer road environments for all and enhancing the overall functionality of road infrastructures.”
“CIHT are proud of our association with SoRSA and the outstanding work they do in ensuring that this community of specialists is at the forefront of road safety audit good practice.”
“In presenting Sue with this award, the society wishes to acknowledge the important role that she has played in ensuring that road safety audit and wider road safety initiatives are playing across the highways and transport sector.”
Sue Percy CBE, Chief Executive, CIHT said:
“It was a great honour to be presented with this Honorary Fellowship. SoRSA and the wider road safety community are a critical part of CIHT and we will continue to ensure that their work remains a key area of our activity.”
SoRSA was established by CIHT as a response to a growing call from professionals operating in the field of safety auditing and safety engineering practice in the UK, for a forum to exchange best practice and, importantly, to provide advice and ultimately routes to professional recognition for safety auditing practitioners.
