Software developer Causeway is hosting two events in May to showcase new programs designed to make work easier and more productive for professionals working in highways and the built environment.

Manchester’s Old Trafford stadium will host the first event on Thursday 15 May from 9.15am followed by a second at Wembley stadium the following Tuesday, 20 May from 8.45am. Key themes at each event will be the importance and growing use of Building Information Modelling and ways in which technology can encourage collaborative working along the supply chain.

Representatives from EC Harris, the built asset consultant, will offer an industry overview at both events, examine whether BIM is widely accepted in industry and how new technology can be used to support BIM initiatives.

Causeway will then promote a social business platform known as LiveStax which is designed to help members of the supply chain to come together and provide content from multiple software applications to allow sound project decisions to be made with confidence.

Five specialist sector workshops will then follow, including one aimed squarely at professionals in highways and infrastructure maintenance. The session is designed to show how technology and in particular mobile technology can be used to help operatives such as those repairing roads or fixing street lights to receive instructions in real time.

Four further sessions will cover the use of software for estimating and commercial management, cost and programme management, facilities management and supply chain management.

Following lunch delegates will have the chance to take a behind the scenes tour of either football stadium.
