CIHT provides members with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities including through our new digital learning platform, CIHT Learn and we check members are undertaking CPD through a random sample each year. You can find out more about the CPD requirements on our website.
We would like your feedback on our approach to CPD so we can ensure we are supporting members to meet their professional development requirements. In particular, we want to explore how we can support members in our overarching themes of climate action, professionalism and equality diversity and inclusion (see our latest strategy for more information on these themes).
We plan to start by introducing CPD in Climate Literacy because transport remains one of the largest sources of the Green House Gas (GHG) emissions that are driving the climate emergency. We intend to introduce a simple knowledge framework that will provide guidance on the key areas of knowledge transport professionals need to play a full role in decarbonisation and we would like to hear your thoughts on what should be included.
We have created a survey that should take you between 10 - 15 minutes to complete that will tell us about your current experience of undertaking CPD, your thoughts on what should be included in a CPD framework on climate literacy and what sort of support you want from the CIHT to meet the CPD obligations.
Members have until 5 June 2022 to tell us their thoughts on CIHT’s approach to CPD.
