CIHT Thames and Chilterns Branch Annual General Meeting took place on Wednesday 30th April 2014 at the TRL offices in Crowthorne. The committee saw some changing faces with Bob Pizzey taking over as Chairman from Phil Bridge, who has kindly served us for the past two years, and Mark Kemp elected as his Vice Chair.
The most notable change, however, was the standing down of David Hunter. David has been a member of thebranch committee since 1991 and in his latest role of Treasurer since 2007.
David worked at Peter Brett Associates until the end of 2005 when he retired as a Senior Associate after 20 years with the firm.
He has been a member of the Institution since 1963 and during his time on the committee has also served as branch Chairman from 1997 to 1998 and as branch Secretary from 1998 to 2005.He was always heavily involved in the organisation of the branch’s annual Sonning conference which the branch ran up until the early 2000s. In 2006 he was awarded the Institution’s Certificate of Merit for services to the branch.
David has been a fantastic asset to the branch and will be sorely missed. We wish him well and would like to extend our thanks once more for his contribution to the branch.
The 2014-15 Committee is as follows:
· Chairman - Bob Pizzey
· Vice Chairman - Mark Kemp
· Hon Secretary - Keith Rogers
· Hon Treasurer - Jill Weekley
· Branch Web Officer - Emily White
The AGM was followed by a presentation from Stuart Atkinson from SMA entitled 'On Shore Wind Farms: Planning and Transport Logistics'.
