Through the power of design, the Design Council make better places, better products, better processes, and better performance. Design Council’s Inclusive Environments programme has been running since 2014 and brings together the built environment institutes and the UK’s leading experts to understand and advocate for inclusive design.
Due to the pandemic, many of their services are now delivered online through interactive virtual spaces and their Inclusive Environments programme has also be brought online. The Programme includes access to the Design Council’s online one-hour Inclusive Environments CPD course, which is supported by a series of bespoke seminars and interactive workshops on key themes specific to organisations or sectors.
The Design Council adapt their courses to the Highways & Transportation sector through the expertise of their 450+ Built Environment Experts. The Design Council film their events to provide a long-term resource to their clients

Inclusive environments are places that work better for everybody. An inclusive approach to planning, design and management is an opportunity to use creativity and agile thinking to create environments that reflect the diversity of people who want to use them, enabling everyone to participate equally, confidently and independently in everyday activities. We are looking forward to developing our partnership with CIHT, working together to build understanding of inclusive environments, extend expertise and enable culture change in the sector.”
