The government has published its Draft Airports National Policy Statement setting out in the words of the Department for Transport “the need for additional airport capacity in the southeast and the reasons why a northwest runway at Heathrow is the government's preferred scheme”.  As part of this announcement the DfT have commenced a national public consultation on 2 February 2017.  Click here to read the full report.
