The Construction Industry Council congratulates the finalists for The Duke of Gloucester’s Young Achievers Scheme organised by The Construction Youth Trust.

The finalists have been announced by Construction Youth Trust for their second prestigious awards dinner for The Duke of Gloucester’s Young Achievers Scheme 2013.

The Construction Industry Council is proud to be sponsoring this year’s Awards with co-sponsors Byrne Group, ConstructionSkills, Aecom, John Rowan and Partners, KPMG, and The Association of Consultant Architects. Graham Watts, Chief Executive, CIC, says “ We are delighted to participate in this exciting event which acknowledges and celebrates the outstanding achievements of young construction industry professionals whose paths to success have been challenging. The aims of this scheme are very close to the unifying, multi-professional mission of CIC and we commend the Construction Youth Trust for their important work in promoting employment and careers in the industry.”

Now in its second year, the Scheme, with the support of the Trust’s Patron, HRH The Duke of Gloucester, is an opportunity for exceptional young professionals to be commended and celebrated for their achievements. It particularly looks for young people who have overcome barriers or certain hardships in their life, and judges read applications from young people who had shown exceptional resilience and determination.

The shortlisted candidates will now take part in a rigorous judging process, presenting to key industry executives in early February, and will attend the awards evening where the winners will be announced.
Winners will each receive a unique package of support through the Trust and development opportunities through a one year mentoring programme to enable them to make an even greater impact in their future careers. There will be an additional prize of an iPad for the overall winner.

The Categories for the Awards are: Architecture, Engineering, Project Management and Surveying, with an Overall Winner (individual chosen from the winners of the other four categories). To see the shortlist please visit: http://www.constructionyouth.org.uk.
