We hope you will agree that the focus of our navigation and modern design reflects the dynamism of your nation. CIHT professionals within the region are engaged in contributing to major infrastructure developments that are important to the regional and national economy.

In 2018 developments in Cymru Wales include:

• The Welsh Government approved the £135M 9.7km A487 Caernarfon to Bontnewydd Bypass to take traffic around Llanwnda, Dinas, Bontnewydd and Caernarfon alleviating congestion.
• Welsh Government announced the Green Corridors initiative with a programme of tree planting, wildflower areas and improved diversity of existing green areas beside major motorways and trunk roads.
• Welsh Transport Secretary, Ken Skates addressed the Welsh Assembly making the case for additional spending on rail infrastructure based on research by Professor Mark Barry of Cardiff University.
• Public consultation began on two possible routes for a link road between the M4, A48 and Cardiff Airport. Plans include a new railway station and provision for park and ride.
