We hope you will agree that the focus of our navigation and modern design reflects the dynamism of your nation. CIHT professionals within the region are engaged in contributing to major infrastructure developments that are important to the regional and national economy.

In 2018 developments in your nation include:

• The contract for the £220 million A6 Dungiven to Drumahoe Dualling Scheme was awarded to a consortium of Sacyr, Wills Bros and Somague marking a major milestone in the delivery of this NI Executive Flagship project.
• The Department for Infrastructure completed a £1.1million flood alleviation scheme in Laurelvale, Co Armagh.
• The Road Safety Issues in Northern Ireland 2016/2017 report presents findings from the 2016/2017 Continuous Household Survey (CHS). Nine in ten respondents think the police should have the power to seize a vehicle if a driver was driving under the influence of drink (91%) or drugs (90%).
• New bus lanes for the Belfast Rapid Transit Glider service opened in Belfast Harbour Estate and on Sydenham Road, Queens Quay, Queens Bridge, Queen Elizabeth Bridge and Oxford Street.
• Work commenced to extend the hard shoulder bus lanes along the M1 and M2 motorways.

 Success at CIHT Northern Ireland

• CIHT Northern Ireland held a gala dinner at the Titanic Belfast on 22 March 2018. Over 200 guests attended the event and celebrated the successes of CIHT Northern Ireland.
