Are you a woman looking to progress in your career in Science, Engineering or Technology (SET)?
Do you need to update or improve your technical skills or get some help with working through career issues?
Two new schemes from the UK Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (UKRC) may provide just the support you’re looking for. The Technical Training Grant scheme may help you acquire specific scientific or technical skills by contributing towards the training fees or related costs. Training at NVQ level 4 or equivalent (excluding fees for first degrees and PhDs) is eligible within the scheme. Awards of up to £500 are available.
Recent successful applicants have used the grants to help fund a range of professional level training from specialist diplomas to computer programming courses. Allowable costs include course fees, childcare costs during the training and travel to the training.
This is a pilot scheme currently only available to women in the South East region of England and Scotland, although we hope to roll it out across the UK in due course. For more information and to find out if you are eligible for either scheme please visit the UK Resource Centre for Women website
