Today (04/07/2019) Transport Focus released the Strategic Roads User Survey Summary Report which from 2020-2025 will be the official measure for Highways England of road user satisfaction on the Strategic Road Network.
The survey assesses overall journey experience, journey time, surface quality, roadworks management, permanent and electronic information, and feelings of safety. Transport Focus has designed this survey specifically for Highways England's network and results cannot be compared with their National Road User Satisfaction Survey.
Chief executive of Transport Focus, Anthony Smith, comments:
The Strategic Roads User Survey gives Highways England the most robust picture ever at a national, regional and individual road level of driver satisfaction on the motorways and major ‘A’ roads that it manages. The results show where Highways England should focus its efforts to maximise satisfaction, including reducing delays arising from accidents and improving user experience with journey time and road surface quality.
The Summary Report is available here.
The data is updated monthly and can be found here.
