Transport Scotland follows on from the National College for High Speed Rail, who partnered with CIHT as an education partner earlier this year.
This comes at an exciting time for Transport Scotland which includes a landmark investment of more than £500 million to improve bus infrastructure across the country and a move towards decarbonising their railways by 2035. Plans are also advancing to make the Highlands and Islands the world’s first net zero aviation region by 2040. These plans are centred around Logan Air’s joint initiative with Cranfied University in developing “Project Fresson” which aims to develop the world’s first electric-powered commercial passenger flights on island-hopping routes across the Orkney Islands.
Sue Stevens, Director of Membership and Education, CIHT said:
“I’m delighted that Transport Scotland have become our first Public Sector Partner. CIHT already has a well-established and productive relationship with Transport Scotland and this partnership will help to further strengthen cross-sector knowledge sharing across Scotland and beyond, and inform debate across the industry more widely”
The CIHT Partnership Network gives public sector organisations, education providers and corporate partners the opportunity to work in collaboration with the Institution to promote excellence across the highways and transportation sector.
