This is the first edition of CIHT member magazine Transportation Professional’s weekly email newsletter. Every Wednesday the 12,000 strong Institution membership will be sent direct five stories of useful, news information adding to the service already provided by the printed magazine which members receive ten times a year.

The short taster of each story on the newsletter front page is backed up by a longer story that can be accessed by clicking either the “read more” link or the photograph.

Readers will be kept up to date on transport related developments in government and business along with updates on projects, technology, techniques, careers and professional development. To underline Transportation Professional’s community friendly feel, we are also planning to include a regular ‘parish pump’ section reporting on your new jobs, project successes, charity initiatives and other personal triumphs like births and marriages.

For those of you looking to pep up your careers we will be carrying a regular “top jobs” list on the right hand side so you know who is recruiting and what roles are available. This week AECOM and the Project Centre are seeking new staff.

We would like to thank our launch supporters Colas, Nynas, Tensar, AECOM and Akzo Nobel for so enthusiastically backing the newsletter venture.

This is the first time that Transportation Professional and CIHT have had direct, weekly contact with CIHT members. We want this newsletter to be of use to you and yours to use. We hope you find it a helpful addition to your Institution services.

If you have information you think should be included please let TP’s deputy editor Mike Walter know at mike@transportion-mag.com or the editor Jackie Whitelaw at jackie@transportation-mag.com

Friends and colleagues who are not CIHT members can also receive the newsletter for free. Names and email addresses should be sent to Kirsty Barrett at kirsty@transportation-mag.com

Advertising enquiries should be sent to Sally Devine at sally@transportation-mag.com, telephone 01474 833871
