Following their third annual Commons debate, Youth Parliament Members supported a motion urging the government to make public transport “cheaper, better and accessible to all”.  The elected Members voted to make their concerns about public transport the subject of their national campaign in 2012.

They chose public transport ahead of four other important motions discussed - student finance, bullying in schools, child poverty and the green economy as the most relevant and problematic to young people today.  Students cited high costs and accessibility to public transport as a contributing factor to rising levels of youth unemployment.
