Election of the next Government is not the only important vote to be decided upon. The Chartered Institution has an Election of Officers and Council for 2010/11 and a ballot form will be issued to all members as an insert in the May edition of Transportation Professional magazine.

Members are asked to vote under the single transferable voting system for two out of four candidates for election as Ordinary Members of Council. They are Patrick John Brown, Peter Martin Charles Brown, Trupti Patel and Martin Tugwell. Completed ballot forms should be returned to the Chief Executive of CIHT by 4pm on Monday 17 May.

CIHT’s Director of Corporate Services Brian Murrell said: “This is the opportunity for all members to select their representative on Council, which plays a key role in shaping the strategy and future direction for CIHT. With changes to the Board structure, next year will be a very interesting and challenging time for the new Council. A high turnout would be a important sign that members had a healthy interest in CIHT affairs."
