One of the great tools you can access as a CIHT member, is the CIHT mentoring platform. If you log onto CIHT mentoring, now you will find two options for our different mentoring programmes:
If you're looking for a mentor to support you, the CIHT Mentoring Platform is here to help you connect with the mentor that can provide you the guidance, encouragement, and insight you need to succeed.
If you're a paying CIHT member (Associate, Graduate, Member, Fellow), you're eligible to request a CIHT mentor.
N.B. We know that many members already have mentors through their employer. You do not have to register your mentoring relationship through the CIHT mentoring platform.
The CIHT Mentoring platform is designed to help you to connect with potential mentors and find a mentor who can best support you.
If you're looking for a mentor the first thing to do is to register on the CIHT Mentoring platform. If you are already signed into the CIHT website you will be automatically signed in, otherwise you just need to enter your CIHT username and password.
Create a profile with details about your goals, experience and what you want mentoring support for. This information will help to match you with mentors who can support you to achieve your goals.
CIHT Mentoring has been designed to make finding, connecting and communicating with a mentor as easy as possible. The platform allows mentees to search for mentors who would be the best match for them and experience they are looking for.
CIHT mentoring has an inbuilt meeting tool that allows you to arrange meetings, set agendas, record meeting notes, and action points and a video chat tool to enable you to conduct virtual meetings from within the platform.
Q: Can my sponsor also be my mentor?
A: Yes, if they are happy to mentor you too then this is perfectly acceptable.
Q: Can my mentor who CIHT match me with also be my sponsor?
A: No, sponsors need to have worked with you in a professional capacity in order to verify the content of your Portfolio.
