About the role

As a Quality Assurance Volunteer, you will play a key role in maintaining the high standards of CIHT Learn courses. Working alongside the Content Manager and Programme Development Group (PDG), QA Volunteers help ensure all learning materials are:

  • Accurate, accessible, and inclusive
  • Aligned with CIHT’s professional standards and strategic goals
  • Engaging, practical, and relevant to our diverse audience

Your responsibilities will include reviewing draft course content for clarity, inclusivity, and technical accuracy; confirming that learning outcomes are achieved; and providing constructive feedback on tone, structure, and user experience. QA Volunteers may also support user testing by reviewing learner feedback and helping to verify that updates maintain the educational quality and professional integrity of each course.

This collaborative role helps ensure that every CIHT Learn module delivers industry-relevant, high-quality professional learning to those shaping the future of highways and transportation.

Why volunteer?

Becoming a QA Volunteer is a great opportunity to:

  • Share your expertise and influence how the profession learns
  • Develop new skills in digital learning, evaluation, and educational design
  • Enhance your CPD and gain recognition for your contribution
  • Be acknowledged on the course platform and in promotional materials for your support.

Your insight helps shape the content that informs and inspires professionals across the sector.

Who should get involved?

This opportunity is ideal for:

  • Local authority officers involved in transport, planning, or economic development
  • Professionals in highways, transport planning, engineering, procurement, or policy
  • Early career professionals, students, and apprentices who want to broaden their knowledge and bring a fresh perspective.

CIHT membership is not required to take part.
