As part of our service as an End Point Assessment Organisation, CIHT works with highly qualified, professionally registered EPA assessors who support CIHT to interview Transport Planning Technician apprentices when they come to the end of their apprenticeship. Successful apprentices can register with the Engineering Council as Engineering Technicians (EngTech) and join CIHT as Associate Members (AMCIHT).
CIHT continue to successfully deliver remote EPA interviews to all apprentices on the Level 3 Transport Planning Technician Apprenticeship. Remote EPA interview guidance will be shared with eligible apprentices and their employers prior to their interview.
For Apprentices with upcoming interview dates
The next round of remote EPA interviews are scheduled for April 2026. We recommend that apprentices due to take the EPA familiarise themselves with Microsoft Teams and practice how to share their screens with their line manager (or each other), which they will need to do when talking the interviewers through their presentations. Apprentices should also use the time leading up to their EPA to review their submission documents.

As part of the EPA interview that you must undertake, to successfully complete the apprenticeship you are on, it is mandatory for you to COMPLETE and submit these documents when entering Gateway.
CIHT have created policies to support the change to the revised standard for the level 3 Transport Planning Technician Apprenticeship. All apprentices sitting their EPA in 2025 and beyond will be required to sit their EPA under the revised standard. The policies below are designed to provide additional support.
