Datuk Ir. Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi

Chair, CIHT Malaysia

Datuk Ir Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi is the COO of Projek Lebuhraya Usahasama Berhad and PLUS Malaysia Berhad. He holds a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Tasmania, Australia, and an MBA from Cranfield School of Management, UK.

He is responsible for designing business strategies, improving the work culture, overseeing company operations, and managing investments, acquisitions, and partnerships. 

Internationally, he was a Senior GM at UEM Group in Abu Dhabi and Doha, managing UEM Group's interests in Gulf Cooperation Countries. From 2012 to 2017, he served as CEO of Uniquest Infra Ventures Ltd in India, supervising four major highway concessions.

He is also involved in various companies as a board member and holds significant positions in professional associations, including being the President of the Association of Highway Concessionaires Malaysia (PSKLM), Chairman of CIHT, Council Member of Road Engineering Association of Malaysia (REAM) and Council Member of Intelligent Transport System Association of Malaysia (ITSM).

Dato’ Ir. Wong Wai Ching

Vice Chair, CIHT Malaysia

Dato’ Ir. Wong Wai Ching's illustrious career spans both the Malaysian Government service and the private sector. Beginning in the Public Works Department (PWD), he held roles such as District Engineer and later served as the Senior Superintendent Engineer of the Highway Branch at PWD HQ. 

Post-retirement in 2008, he joined Gamuda Group, contributing significantly to major projects. Notably, as Project Director for MMC Gamuda KVMRT (PDP) Sdn Bhd, he oversaw the successful delivery of Malaysia's first-ever MRT Line (SBK Line) ahead of schedule in 2017. Additionally, he led the transition of the 2nd MRT line project (SSP) from a Project Delivery Partner (PDP) to Turnkey Contractor (TC) model. 

Dato Wong's affiliations include key roles in road engineering associations and committees, as well as recognition for his contributions in the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia. His extensive honours include being the 1st Malaysian engineer 

Ir. Sivaananthan Chelladurai

Honorary Secretary, CIHT Malaysia

Ir. Sivaananthan Chelladurai currently serves as the General Manager at HSS Engineering Sdn Bhd (HSS) in Kuala Lumpur. Holding an MBA from the University of Strathclyde and a MSc. in Highway & Transportation Engineering, he is a seasoned engineer and project management expert. His career spans roles like Chief Engineer at HSS and Section Manager at Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) KL. 

With a robust background in project and design management, he excels in delivering rail, road transportation, and civil infrastructure projects in Malaysia and globally, contributing significantly to major ventures in India, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

Ir. Sivaananthan is also recognized for his leadership in sustainability initiatives and strategy implementation at HSS since 2018. His impressive track record includes successful negotiations, client management, and coordination of complex projects including public-private-partnerships (PPP). 

Mr. Yap Hiong Yong

Honorary Treasurer, CIHT Malaysia

Ir. Yap Hiong Yong is a highly accomplished Senior Design Manager at GAMUDA Engineering Sdn Bhd, equipped with a Master's Degree in Highway and Transportation Engineering. He possesses over 20 years of civil engineering consultancy experience, focusing on large-scale development, highways, roads and railways.

As the leader of the Design and Management department, he excels in adeptly managing and nurturing the professional growth of his team members. His invaluable contributions as Chief Designer for MRT Kajang Line and Putrajaya Line showcase his expertise in spearheading major infrastructural developments.

With the prestigious title of Professional Engineer (P.E) since 2010, Ir. Yap Hiong Yong remains committed to excellence in civil engineering, making significant contributions to transformative and sustainable urban planning and design projects.

Dr. Teoh Jui Min

Committee Member, CIHT Malaysia

Currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer of SKVE Holdings Sdn Bhd, Dr. Teoh Jui Min has experience in the development of civil infrastructure, mega-townships, and public-private partnerships on the South Klang Valley Expressway.

Dr. Teoh is now responsible for project upgrading, contract and strategic management, operation, and maintenance. 

He holds an executive doctorate in business administration, a master's degree in project management, and a diploma in building technology. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Highway and Transportation (FCIHT), a Fellow of the Institute of Administrative Management (FInstAM), a Fellow of the Chartered Management Administration (FCHMA), and a Member of the Malaysia Institute of Management (MMIM).

Ir. Yap Kannan

Committee Member, CIHT Malaysia

Ir Yap Kannan, the longest-serving Committee Member of CIHTMB 2019, boasts over 30 years of dedicated service and was elected into FIHT in 1990 while serving as Senior Superintending Engineer on the challenging 115 km East-West Highway. 

His notable tenure includes over a decade as the Hon. Secretary of CIHTMB. Recognized for his contributions, he received the Certificate of Merit from the Institution of Highways & Transportation in April 2005.

With a significant role in highway construction in mountainous terrain, his expertise was crucial in the innovative reconstruction of the East-West Highway, incorporating designs that stabilized deep embankments and high cut-slopes. He served as the longest-serving PWD (JKR) Senior Officer in the East-West Highway construction from January 1985 to September 1991.

Mr. Law Teck Onn

Committee Member, CIHT Malaysia

Mr. Law Teck Onn is currently the Director of K.T. LAW & ASSOCIATES SDN BHD. He has overseen projects in both private and public infrastructure projects. 

He graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering after completing his bachelors in Environmental Engineering. 

Mr. Law is now responsible for the management, planning, and construction of roads at Shah Alam Expressway (Lebuhraya Shah Alam) and flyovers in Privatisation of Lebuhraya Pesisiran Pantai Barat (Taiping-Banting) Section 3.

Mr. Law’s vision is to incorporate more environmental and technological improvements into infrastructure and civil works.

Mr. Amir Shahid Adnan

Committee Member, CIHT Malaysia

Mr. Amir Shahid Bin Adnan is currently the Head of Operations Safety, Traffic Safety with PLUS Malaysia Berhad. In the past years, he has been mainly involved with highway maintenance, operations, and traffic safety along various highways around Klang Valley, Malaysia.

Mr. Amir Shahid is currently responsible for planning and monitoring of operations matters along PLUS Highway which includes the management of highway patrol (PLUS Ronda), collaborations with Highway Police, reviewing traffic management procedures and coordination of traffic congestions. Mr Amir Shahid’s vision is to promote road safety through best practice to support Malaysia National Road Map 2022 which is to reduce fatalities by 50% by 2030.
