What the role will involve?
The role involves leading a team carrying out designs of traffic signals across the North East of England and assisting in the delivery of specific projects working alongside other local authorities and private contractors.
The successful post holder will have a proven track record and extensive recent experience of designing innovative solutions to traffic congestion and progression problems. You will make use of computer simulation models and calculations based on site parameters in order to optimise capacity and non-delay through the network. You will also be skilled in a number of software modelling packages, AutoCAD, complex configurations and advanced programming.
You will be playing a lead role in advising piers, colleagues, front line staff and apprentices whilst complying to Newcastle City Councils policies and procedures.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking to appoint a self-motivated and driven Senior Traffic Signals Design Engineer to support the delivery of a wide range of projects in Traffic Signals.
You will be expected to provide support to designers in Traffic signals, ensuring services are provided professionally, to programme and on time. You will have the ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and you will play a key role in ensuring productivity targets are met.
