Three Rivers District in South West Hertfordshire straddles the north west corner of the M25 on the edge of Greater London. We are now looking for two Transport and Parking Officers to join us on a full-time basis, working 37 hours per week. One post will be permanent, and the second will be a fixed-term contract for 18 months. Requests for part-time or flexible working will be considered.

The Role

As a Transport and Parking Officer, you will support the delivery of transport and parking initiatives that help improve local services, sustainable travel and effective parking management across the district.

You will contribute to a range of transport and parking projects, supporting schemes that encourage the use of public transport and the transition to zero-emission vehicles. Engaging with these projects and initiatives, you will connect with stakeholders, undertake GIS mapping activities, support procurement and monitor budgets.

Working across the Council, you will also provide support on planning matters relating to transport and parking, including the Local Plan, planning applications and wider development proposals.

Additionally, you will:

  • Assist with annual reviews of transport and parking fees and charges
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and professional standards
  • Embed environmental sustainability within projects, processes and service delivery

About You

To be considered as a Transport and Parking Officer, you will need:

  • An understanding and awareness of the functions of Local Government organisations
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex matters in an understandable way
  • The ability to prepare and present well-written reports and presentations
  • Excellent standards of literacy and numeracy (attained at GCSE grade A*-C or equivalent)
  • A full, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle (to attend meetings and site visits around the district)
