Join us for the 2022 CIHT East Midlands Annual General Meeting. This will be held in-person in C15 Pope Building, University Park Campus, University of Nottingham. For those who cannot attend in person, there will be an option to join us via Teams instead. Please find full details below.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the CIHT East Midlands Region will hold its Annual General Meeting at 18:30 on Thursday 26 May 2022.
We invite all voting members of the region to join us.
The AGM offers us an opportunity to reflect on the past year and look forward to the next. It also provides an opportunity for CIHT members to hear about and get involved in the activities in the East Midlands region.
The meeting will see the region’s Chair reflect on the past year and the successes of the region. The AGM will see the election of new committee members and will also see the appointment of the Chair and Officers to take forward the region’s plans for the next year.
This AGM will be run in-person in C15 Pope Building, University Park Campus, University of Nottingham.
If you would like to attend the AGM, please book your place via the 'Book a place' button on this page.
If you would like to attend the AGM but cannot attend in person, there will also be a dial-in option via Teams for those who wish to attend virtually. Please book your place using the 'book your place' button on this page and then please email the Regions Team at: regions@ciht.org.uk to request the online meeting link.
Presentation: We will also have a presentation on ‘An evaluation of cycling infrastructure in Nottingham’ from Nick Thom. This presentation will review some of the developments in provision for cyclists in Nottingham over the past several years. It will cover uptake (i.e. cyclist numbers), accident numbers and types, and will try to tackle the difficult issue of the value of space within highway boundaries. Scooters will of course also be mentioned.
About Nick Thom: Nick Thom is a lecturer at the University of Nottingham. The work which he will be presenting was carried out by final-year MEng student, Sam Barton, who will soon be starting his career with National Highways.
There are lots of benefits of getting involved with your local committee; CIHT’s regions and nations play a critical role for the Institution, acting as a focal point for members to meet and share their experiences locally. The regions and nations organise an annual programme of activities, which include CPD opportunities, seminars, site visits and social events.
We are welcoming new committee members, as well as specific officer vacancies, including:
