CIHT Scotland is hosting a webinar with the creators of the Gender Equality Toolkit in Transport (or GET-IT) - which is currently shortlisted in the CIHT Awards 2022. Hear about their research, and their goal to keep gender on the agenda.
"When planners fail to account for gender, public spaces become male spaces by default" - Caroline Criado Perez, from the book “Invisible Women”.
As transport professionals, we each have a collective responsibility to ensure the transport systems we design are attractive, safe and accessible for all, including woman and people who are non-binary.
The Gender Equality Toolkit in Transport (or GET-IT) aims to inform transport professionals how their work and decision-making can impact women's mobility. The toolkit provides a resource to encourage our industry to be gender responsive, with the goal of ultimately creating gender inclusive transport systems.
In this webinar, you will hear from the creators of the toolkit, their research, and their goal to keep gender on the agenda.
The Toolkit has been shortlisted for this year's CIHT Awards 2022 in the EDI Initiative of the Year Award category. You can read more about the Toolkit in the Awards section of our website. The results will be announced at the CIHT Awards Ceremony 2022 – taking place on the 7 September 2022 at the London Marriot Hotel.
This event is open to both members and non-members of CIHT. It will be of particular interest to Transport Planners, Civil/Highways Engineers and anyone with an interest in learning about how to advance gender equality and create fully inclusive transport systems.
