How can transportation professionals design better streets and places for children?
This conference will feature presentations and exhibitions on best practice in playful and inclusive streets from Child Friendly Leeds and design leaders.
CIHT Yorkshire & the Humber is coordinating an initiative with Child Friendly Leeds to understand how transportation professionals can design better streets and places for children.
This conference will feature presentations and exhibitions on best practice in playful and inclusive streets from Child Friendly Leeds and design leaders.
It will also feature a “design hack” workshop where design ideas from local children for their local school streets will be shared and attendees will be invited to develop these into a high-level concept design.
These concepts will be fed back to participating schools for children to see how their design ideas have been turned into a potential scheme by transportation professionals, showcasing careers in the sector and creating a pipeline of interventions to be taken forward by Leeds City Council and partners.
This is an opportunity to hear how children’s needs and views can be incorporated into transport scheme development, and be part of an initiative aimed at understanding those needs and reflecting them into a CIHT White Paper.
