2020 leading into 2021 have unquestionably been some of the most challenging years in recent memory; particularly so for the education sector who have frequently adapted to ever changing circumstances and restrictions.

Despite these challenges, CIHT’s Volunteer STEM Ambassadors have been more active than ever before and helped keep the STEM flame alive. In fact, there has been a steep increase in the number of STEM related activities and a record number of CIHT STEM Ambassador applications have been received.

This is a remarkable achievement which CIHT wanted to highlight and take the time to thank all our STEM Ambassadors for their relentless support during a very challenging 18 month period.

CIHT are very proud to be associated with our STEM Ambassador members. When society needed them most they stepped up, demonstrating a tireless level of dedication, enthusiasm and support.

CIHT’s STEM Ambassadors are volunteers from a wide range of STEM related jobs and disciplines across the UK. They offer their time and enthusiasm to demonstrate the value of the Highways & Transportation sector by using real life scenarios that bring subjects to life for children and help them better engage with and continue to study the subjects that can lead to STEM careers.

Garry Packer, STEM Ambassador for CIHT said:

Being a STEM ambassador is an opportunity to share my passion for maths and engineering as well as promote the transport and engineering sector as a great place to work; it’s great that we can show young people how what they are studying at school is relevant in the real world.

To become a CIHT STEM Ambassador please register online and your local STEM contact will then email you about the next steps. Once you have been through the induction process, please contact CIHT to receive your own copy of CIHT’s Interactive Careers Toolkit and join our Ambassador programme.

CIHT would like to say once again a big thank you to all our STEM Ambassadors. Keep up the great work.
