"Parking on pavements and parking across dropped kerbs at crossing points inhibits the movement of all pedestrians, but especially those who are blind or partially sighted, for those with mobility difficulties, and those using prams or buggies; compromising their safety and limiting their ability to participate fully in society. This does not align with CIHT’s vision for “safe, accessible, inclusive” infrastructure, and therefore we fully support the adoption of measures designed to address these issues."
"The problem of parking on pavements (and across drop kerbs) is a historic issue that will take time to fully address and the options considered within the paper all have their advantages and disadvantages in terms of time, resource and effectiveness."
