Delivering on ED&I and realising the benefits for business was the focus for the recent webinar for CIHT’s Strategic, Public Sector and Research & Education Partners.

Financial performance is no longer the only demonstration of success and there is an expectation from regulators to see rapid progress in the field of diversity and inclusion.

The highways and transportation sector is one of the slowest to adapt and needs to speed up change.    There is plenty of research to show that businesses benefit from having diverse teams and boards within the organisation and financial performance is boosted, both at a macro and micro level.

Delegates heard some of the latest statistics around diversity in business, helpful and practical examples which any business is able to adopt and the strong message that diversity is everyone’s business issue. If it is addressed correctly, it can help everyone through building a better culture and creating more opportunities for all.

Diverse teams within an organisation increase employee engagement and trust. They make better teams which are more innovative and make better decisions. They raise ethics and reduce risk, attract and retain more talent. Diverse organisations also draw customers closer to the business and increase brand profile.

Ann Francke OBE, CEO of the Chartered Management Institution was the guest speaker, providing an insightful presentation and sound advice during the questions and answers.
