The keynote presentation was from Michael Matheson MSP, Honorary Fellow of CIHT and Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero, Energy and Transport, Scottish Government.
Michael Matheson discussed the National Transport Strategy in Scotland and it's aims to embed a sustainable transport hierarchy, noting that the Scottish Government is: "Trying to re-wire the way people use transport".
Following on from this, there was a session from Annette Pass, Head of Innovation at National Highways outlining how some of their major targets will be supported by innovation.
Mark Kemp, Vice President, ADEPT brought an element of play to his session on gaming for highways. Mark mentioned how ADEPT worked with DfT on live labs, this involved a discussion around that things don’t always go right when being innovative, therefore a space was needed to play around and test ideas.
The final session was led by Teresa Jolley, Creative Director, Delivering Efficiency for Transport, focused on the importance of how we tell the story within our sector, the use of visual tools and presentation is important.
