If you are already professional registered as EngTech, IEng, CEng or CTPP you can help other CIHT members to achieve their professional registration goals.
CIHT’s Reviewers, Mentors , Sponsors, Auditors and Panel Members are key to the development and delivery of the Institution’s professional qualifications.
As well as supporting CIHT, these roles provide you with excellent CPD as they help develop your technical knowledge and interviewing skills.

Professional Registration Reviewer Assess applicants for Chartered Engineer (CEng), Incorporated Engineer (IEng), Engineering Technician (EngTech) or Chartered Transport Planning Professional (CTPP) through the standard or individual route. You can also become an assessor for the Transport Planning Technician apprenticeship.
Mentor Guide applicants through their professional registration journey, offering advice and support.
Sponsor Support applicants by reviewing applicants’ portfolios’ providing feedback and providing sponsor statements confirming readiness for registration.
Registration Panel Member Participate in panels that oversee the professional registration process, ensuring fairness and consistency.

Auditors As part of our internal quality assurance, we audit our professional registration activities. If you are professionally registered and interested in getting involved in quality assurance through CIHT please contact education@ciht.org.uk
Accreditation assessors CIHT accredits civil engineering courses through the Joint Board of Moderators. CIHT Members who are professionally registered as EngTech, IEng or CEng can train to undertake accreditation visits to universities.
