Transport professionals, researchers and academics are invited to submit abstracts for presentation at the STAR conference 2027.

The call is open to anyone with knowledge, research, practical experience or new thinking that can contribute to the future of transport in Scotland. Submissions are welcomed from across the profession, with early career professionals particularly encouraged to take part.

Prior to submitting your abstract, please ensure that you are both:
a ) able to submit the full paper by 9 March 2027
b ) able to present the paper at the conference on 12 May 2027

Authors must ensure that any necessary internal or external approvals are obtained before submitting their abstract.

All forms to be submitted by Wednesday 30 November 2026

Note: Assessment of abstracts is made against four equally weighted criteria:

1. new ideas, innovation and novel practice,
2. relevance to the transport agenda in Scotland,
3. outputs, outcomes, results and lessons learned &
4. evidence that the paper is based in robust in-depth analysis, research and/or project delivery.
