CIHT Republic of Ireland Emerging Professional Presentation Competition 2026

CIHT Republic of Ireland is excited to bring you the Emerging Professionals Presentation Competition 2026

Being able to present effectively whilst engaging your audience and, subsequently, being able to field challenging technical questions is a key skill for those working in the transportation industry. Whether engaging stakeholders, making a case for investment, or presenting project outputs to your client group, presenting is an essential skill. 

If you are a Student, Apprentice or Emerging Professional in the first 7 years of your career, we’re keen to give you a platform to develop your presentation skills, and an opportunity for you to earn some kudos (and a cash prize!) at the same time. 

                     

What’s involved?

  • Choose a topic relating to accessibility and road safety: To align with the CIHT Republic of Ireland Conference 2026 theme, we are calling for presentations aligned with accessibility and road safety.

  • Enter an abstract: Prepare a 150 word abstract summarising your presentation topic and ideas. 

  • Presentation heats: If selected, you’ll be invited to do your 10 minute presentation online in front of a judging panel in July/August 2026.

  • Presentation final: Three finalists will be selected to do their presentation in-person at the CIHT Republic of Ireland Conference on 24th September 2026. Finalists will be given complementary tickets to the conference, where the winner will be announced and receive a €250 cash prize (excl. CIHT Membership for 2027 for non-members)

Heats will be in July/August 2026, and the final will be on 24th September 2026 at the CIHT Republic of Ireland Conference 2026: Mobility Safety for All.
