Entries for this Award are now open, and we’re inviting apprentices to get involved! The recipient of the award will be presented at CIHT's Young Professionals Conference in Manchester on November 14. This is an excellent opportunity to share knowledge and recognise the work of young professionals working within the sector.
We hope that you will promote this award to your apprentices, which you can do by passing on the award application form and by supporting their entry. Help us recognise their important input into the Transportation Industry.

You must be an apprentice member of the CIHT in order to enter. Apprentices in the highways and transportation industry can join CIHT by visiting our website and completing an online application form.
Judges are looking for apprentices who have made a difference to the organisation they work in and the wider industry. This will be measured according to the following criteria:
Your entry should take the form of a 750 to 1000 word statement of how you have met the above criteria. Please note that entries exceeding 1000 words will not be considered by the judges. All entries must be made electronically via email@example.com on the form provided before 12 noon on Thursday 6th June 2019.
Your entry must be supported by your line manager, placement supervisor or a senior individual within your workplace or training provider. Space for this declaration is included in the entry form.

In order to be eligible for the CIHT Apprentice of the Year Award, you must be working with your employer and enrolled on an apprenticeship scheme in a highways and transportation related occupation. There is no age restriction for entrants.
Your employer or training provider will need to support your entry for the award. Please note that an employer or training provider may choose to support more than one submission.
A panel of judges drawn from the industry will review each entry for evidence of excellence across the three core criteria to determine the winner of the CIHT Apprentice of the Year Award.
The judges will identify a shortlist of 5 finalists who will be invited for a short interview to give them the opportunity to speak about their experience as an apprentice. Shortlisted candidates will also be expected to provide a 5 minute presentation on how they interpret the CIHT values. The 5 finalists willalso be invited to attend the Young Professionals Conference as CIHT guests on 14 November 2019 where the award will be presented to the winner.
