CIHT Cymru Wales Emerging Professional Presentation Competition 2026

CIHT Cymru Wales is excited to bring you the Emerging Professionals Presentation Competition 2026 

Entry for the presentation competition is now closed!

Being able to present effectively whilst engaging your audience and, subsequently, being able to field challenging technical questions is a key skill for those working in the transportation industry. Whether engaging stakeholders, making a case for investment, or presenting project outputs to your client group, presenting is an essential skill. 

If you’re an Emerging Professional in the first 7 years of your career, we’re keen to give you a platform to develop your presentation skills, and an opportunity for you to earn some kudos (and a cash prize!) at the same time. 

                     

What’s involved?

  • Choose a topic: We recognise that the highways and transportation industry in Wales is expansive, covering many sectors, so pick any relevant topic or issue which interests you. 

  • Enter an abstract: Prepare a 150 word abstract summarising your presentation topic and ideas. 

  • Presentation heats: If selected, you’ll be invited to do your 10 minute presentation online in front of a judging panel in February 2026.

  • Presentation final: Three finalists will be selected to do their presentation in-person at the CIHT Cymru Wales Dinner. Finalists will be given complementary tickets to the CIHT Cymru Wales Dinner, where the winner will be announced and receive a £250 cash prize.

 

Heats will be in February 2026, and the final will be on 20th March 2026 at the CIHT Cyrmu Wales Dinner.
