Creating and Maintaining Modern Infrastructure to Deliver a More Inclusive Society

Refreshments at 17:30 for 18:15 start

Travel is a necessity in modern life, however, the design, construction and maintenance of transport infrastructure often create difficulties for many people in our society. This technical meeting seeks to give designers, contractors and others an insight into some of the barriers that make travel difficult or impossible for disabled people, older people and others as well as highlighting how using inclusive design principles ensures investment in transport infrastructure can contribute to a fairer, more equal society. Examples will be discussed using historic infrastructure, new developments and temporary works.

Speaker: Michael Lorimer – IMTAC  (The Inclusive Mobility and Transport Advisory Committee)

This is a joint Technical Meeting held by CIHT NI and TPS
