A one-off manhole cover design resembling the iconic LP cover has been installed next to the famous north west London zebra crossing to commemorate the anniversary of the band’s 11th studio album.

The hundreds of thousands of people from across the globe who visit Abbey Road to walk in the footsteps of John, Paul, George and Ringo on an annual basis, will now pass it while recreating their own ‘Fab Four’ photo on what must be the world’s most famous and iconic zebra crossing.

Since featuring on the Beatles album cover the zebra crossing has become a popular tourist attraction and photo opportunity, despite the road still being a busy thoroughfare for traffic and in December 2010, the zebra crossing was itself given Grade II Listed Building status by English Heritage.
