About the job

Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • Lead the development and enhancement of training products, ensuring they are aligned with industry standards and needs
  • Use market research and intelligence to identify trends, opportunities and gaps in the training market. Use this information to develop a programme of training product development which will grow the market share of CIHT Learn and Training, including identifying new markets and customers.
  • Develop clear definitions and criteria for CIHT qualifications including outlining the requirements and assessment methods.
  • Forecast and model potential costs and income for new products including identifying and pursuing external funding sources
  • Project manage and coordinate the development of a programme of training products
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including members, industry experts and trade bodies to ensure training products are relevant and high quality
  • Work with the Digital Learning and Content Manager on the development of digital training content.
  • Lead on quality assurance for all training products to ensure they meet CIHT’s standards and are regularly reviewed and updated based on feedback and industry developments. Identify opportunities for external accreditation and endorsement
  • Identify, recruit and manage trainers to write and deliver training programmes
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to promote training products
  • Work with the Head of Education and Professional Development to develop and set targets for the training product programme
  • Monitor and analyse data on the performance of training products, including enrolment numbers, feedback and financial performance. Use this data to make informed recommendations about product improvements and developments
  • Provide regular reports on the performance of training products to senior managers
  • Inform and advise both the Education and Appian boards on all training provision related matters
  • Monitor and report on competitor activities around training provision providing relevant reports and information.
  • Work with the Database Manager to ensure that the CRM provides a good experience for training customers and enables us to manage our processes effectively
  • Deputise for the Head of Education and Professional Development, as required.


Applicants will need to demonstrate:

  1. Experience of developing and launching successful training products on digital learning platforms/and or face-to-face preferably within a professional body or membership organisation
  2. Experience of analysing data, interpreting results and presenting evidence-based decision making
  3. Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills
  4. Effective organisational ability to use own initiative and prioritise workload and manage own and other conflicting priorities while meeting deadlines
  5. Strong project management skills
  6. Proven experience of developing and managing quality assurance processes
  7. Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel and willingness to learn new systems
  8. Willingness and commitment to learn about highways and transportation

Some travel within the UK will be required.
