CIHT Scotland Awards 2026

The CIHT Scotland Awards celebrate the very best of the highways, transportation and infrastructure sector across Scotland.

This year, we are delighted to introduce two new award categories, Community Benefits and Unsung Hero, alongside our existing awards recognising outstanding national and local projects, emerging professionals and exceptional individuals within the industry.

The winners and runners-up will be announced at the CIHT Scotland Annual Dinner, which will take place on Thursday, 1 October 2026, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow. Join us for an evening of celebration, networking and recognition, surrounded by industry leaders and rising stars, while enjoying the opportunity to connect with clients, colleagues and business partners.

Award Submission
Provide a short summary of your submission, not exceeding 50 words.
Please use PDF format only. Submissions should be concise and must not exceed the 1,000-word limit. Entries must clearly explain how the submission meets the criteria.
You may upload up to 2 A4 sheets (in PDF format) to support your submission. This can be photographs, drawings, figures or report excerpts etc.
Conditions of Entry The decision of the judges appointed by the Awards Panel will be final. No correspondence will be entered into with entrants concerning the decision of the judges on any matter associated with the CIHT Scotland Awards 2026. The Awards Panel reserves the right to refuse or disqualify any entry for any reason it considers valid, and will not enter into any discussion or correspondence concerning the decision. All material submitted will be treated as available for publication in awards-related articles within press releases and promotional materials developed for the Awards, unless otherwise copyright protected.

National Transport Project of the Year

The CIHT Scotland National Transport Project of the Year award recognises a national transport project, strategy, policy or behaviour change initiative that aligns strongly with CIHT’s values – Professional, Inclusive, Collaborative and Progressive.

Community Benefit Initiative of the Year

The new CIHT Scotland Community Benefit Initiative of the Year award, sponsored by Mott MacDonald recognises the achievement of an organisation, team or individuals that have delivered community benefits that align strongly with CIHT’s values – Professional, Inclusive, Collaborative and Progressive.

Career Achievement Award

The CIHT Scotland Career Achievement Award is designed to recognise those who are more advanced in their career. The Award is therefore intended to celebrate the exceptional success of candidates over their careers.

The CIHT Scotland Emerging Professional of the Year Award aims to celebrate individual excellence among new talent in Transport Planning and/or Civil Engineering within the Scottish highways and transportation sector.

Unsung Hero of the Year Award

The new CIHT Scotland Unsung Hero of the Year award, recognises individuals working in or around the highways and transportation sector whose contribution is vital, but rarely visible. It is for people who go beyond their role to support colleagues, projects, communities or the profession.
