You will assist the Service Lead – Strategic Transport on regional and sub-regional transportation policy and statutory frameworks, in order to co-ordinate corporate efforts to maximise opportunities and resources to deliver the Council’s vision for South Tyneside.  You will also ensure that strategic transport investment is effectively managed and that improvements in the transport infrastructure contributes effectively towards creating an integrated green transport network that works for all.

You will be required to provide specialist strategic transport advice to assist the delivery of the strategic transport function of the Local Authority.  This will include the development, implementation and review of the strategic transport policy framework and ensuring synergy with the transport agenda emanating from the North East Combined Authority.
