Join CIHT Northern Ireland and the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) for this exciting webinar, focused on York Street Station - Evolving Sustainable Transport for Belfast.
Discover the new York Street Station in North Belfast, funded by the Department for Infrastructure, which promotes inclusivity and supports a shift towards public transport. Built by GRAHAM for Translink, the station remained open during construction.
York Street Station is a major infrastructure investment in North Belfast by the Department for Infrastructure. This session will dive into the history of the station and then move on to consider its inclusive design, its role as a catalyst for local investment, and how it encourages a shift towards public transport.
We’ll discuss the comprehensive community consultation that shaped the project and the future impact of the station, including its renaming to better reflect its location in the vibrant heart of North Belfast and the public art installation themed around "journey lines" to symbolise connectivity.
The event will also feature a presentation on the station’s key design and construction elements, and some of the main challenges on the project.
This event is free to attend, you can register to attend through ICE using the below button.
This is open to all and is a great opportunity to learn about the future of transport in Belfast and the innovative designs that make York Street Station a modern, welcoming space for all.
