The CIHT Yorkshire & the Humber Awards celebrate the very best the region offers across the key areas of highways and transportation. They are open to everyone: members and non-members; small and large organisations; public, private and third sector. The Awards aim to recognise the outstanding contribution that good projects and people make to our daily lives.
Due to Covid-19 the awards will still happen this year, but they will be virtual in nature. All award winners will be announced in a virtual ceremony on Friday 25th September 2020. We will confirm details of that in due course.

With many members working from home we are continuing to put on some events and valuable CPD sessions over the summer holidays to keep you all informed. We hope this is appreciated so please keep an eye on the website HERE for how to join or register.
Here is a preview of what we hope to bring to you:
July 2020 [exact date TBC] - Pop Up Cycle Lanes presentation – Clare Riley, Sales Manager from Rosehill Highways will present on how they have supported Local Authorities with adapting to pop up cycle lane changes on their network. This will be an online presentation and will let you know dial in details for this in the next newsletter.
August 2020 [exact date TBC] – A63 Castle Street Improvement Scheme – Highways England, Balfour Beatty and Arup will present a design insights session and take questions on this £355m scheme in Hull which has just started on site following the recent Development Consent Order decision. This will be an online presentation and will let you know dial in details closer to the time.
24 September 2020 – Annual General Meeting. This event will be the annual review for the year and handover to new Committee Members and incoming Regional Chairman for the following year. This will be an online event and will let you know dial in details for this in the next newsletter.
Further afield: Online events with Sarah Wilson from Knights Plc – towards the end of the year we will have a number of online seminars from Sarah focusing on NEC contractual issues. Sarah has always supported the region and the seminars are always excellent and well attended. Please do keep an eye out for them.
With the AGM fast approaching, do you want to be involved in the Yorkshire and Humber CIHT Committee?
We are always looking for new members from the region to support us. It’s not a full time role, is voluntary and you would be able to help increase membership, provide advocacy for CIHT, organise events, connect with other professionals and let’s be honest, it will look great on your CV too!
We like to have good representation from across the industry so no matter what sector you are in we would love to hear from you!

We all know that at the moment times are tough for many colleagues in the industry; whether it is those on furlough or sadly those who have been a victim of the current financial impact due to COVID-19.
