Plymouth is a spectacular waterfront city making it a top location to live and work. The city  will undergo many exciting changes to its transport network over the next few years, and so we are looking to recruit a new permanent full-time Strategic Transport Programme Coordinator. The successful applicant will manage a team of Transport Planning Officers developing, designing and delivering a high-profile programme of transport schemes to deliver both our growth ambitions and our net zero targets.

Plymouth City Council are leading one of the most ambitious transport investment programmes Plymouth has ever seen, with an overall programme of over £200 Million. This includes projects being delivered as part of our Transforming Cities Fund (TCF), Levelling Up Funding, and Major Road Network Funding with multi modal initiatives including walking, cycling, public transport and highway capacity enhancements.

You would be working full time within the Strategic Transport Team supporting the Strategic Transport Manager and Head of Transport, developing and delivering exceptional schemes to ensure that the programme boosts the productivity of the Plymouth City Region, supports the drive to net zero, enables equality of access and improves the health of our communities.

If you’re ambitious, highly motivated and want to support Plymouth’s delivery of its award winning Joint Local Plan, some exciting opportunities exist in delivering transformational transport projects.

This role is suitable for flexible working, subject to the needs of the service, and expected to involve two to three days a week working from home, with access to hot desk and meeting space at the Council’s offices at Ballard House, with stunning views across the marina. The role also benefits from flexible working hours and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
